The Edelweiss Club

The club sprang from a gathering of German families at a picnic at the farm of Willy and Frieda Carstens in their big red barn at the corner of Franklin and Curtis Roads in Boise, Idaho in 1967.

The purpose of the Edelweiss Club is to establish and maintain a program of fun activities in order to perpetuate the German culture within the Treasure Valley area.

Club meetings start at 6:00 pm on the 2nd Friday of each month at the American Legion located at 22 W. Broadway in Meridian. Everyone attending brings a dish for potluck, which will be enjoyed prior to the meeting. Please bring your own beverage of choice.

Meetings are somewhat formal, but are kept short to allow for interaction among club members and to promote Gemütlichkeit, that includes singing and/or dancing to German music.
